  • Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon Winners

Not Your Ordinary State Fair Blue Ribbon

The Minnesota State Fair is the second-largest state fair in the US, attracting roughly two million visitors over twelve days in late August and early September. The Fair’s agricultural and creative competitions drew more than 34,000 entries in 2024 with competitors vying for a share of ribbons, trophies and special awards and nearly $2 million in prize money. Jeff’s prize money for his ’22 and ’23 blue ribbons in Division #538, “Musical Instruments Primarily Made of Wood,” totaled $16. Well, you know, it’s never been about the money.

A big plumbing project and bathroom remodel prohibited an entry in ’24, but he’s back with JMoe Bass #2 at this year’s fair – and we just heard today (8/21) that it’s another Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon winner! Come back soon for photos from the Fair.
